Here’s a brand new poster I put together for a show that has me super excited. Muffled Suitcase (aka Greg Santilly, who also drums in my rock band The D’Urbervilles) is going to be debuting some brand new material next week! He’s got a whole whack of great songs that he puts together using obscure and awesome samples culled from his extensive vinyl collection. Plus, he…you know…raps.
Joining Greg will be Guelph hombre Chris Yang and Kingston’s most underrated/undiscovered rock powerhouse PS I Love U. I can’t say enough about how great this band is. Expect face paint, bass pedals, Big Muff guitar solos, and a love of the ‘93 Jays that probably exceeds even my own. Yes!
And not to say I didn’t warn you, but my alter ego Diamond Rings is probably going to be making a guest appearance at some point. Just sayin’.

Welcome to the brand new Hype Lighter Dot Com! Toronto’s mild mannered master of the world wide web Dale Harrison has been whipping this page into shape for the last few weeks and I’ve got to say I’m more than pleased with the results! Sexy!
In other news…the Youth League book blast was a resounding success! Thanks to Rachel Sheehan and Penny Arcade for hosting Hype Lighter’s first ever public event. Everyone go there today and get some new clothes, alright? I still can’t believe that she let me put these mannequin goons in the front window for an entire week. You’re the best, Rachel!
Thanks are also due to Kim England and Sarah Creskey for preparing such delicious snacks. Here is a platter of double decker, marshmallow, peanut butter and Nutella sandwiches with gummy worms. Can you say tasty?
Finally, I’d love to shout out everyone who signed my over sized Youth League replica guest book. Here’s Jesse looking too cool to even think about going back to school.
Oh ya…and then there was the book itself. Youth League totally sold out! Those of you who missed it…keep your eyes peeled for a second edition. Or maybe not. Not sure. Snooze you lose?
